The PDA Houston Chapter is dedicated to advancing board formation and governance within Houston's business landscape. The Chapter's mission is to advocate for and teach board formation and governance, enrich private company influence through high-performing boards, promote the value of diverse and inclusive boards, and create a dynamic alliance of directors, executives, and private company owners interested in board service. Its goal is positioning leaders to be at the forefront of shaping the future of private companies in Houston and beyond.
Kim Denney has served for more than 13 years as Managing Director and Partner of Newport LLC, a national business advisory firm that offers experience-based, client-centric solutions that help CEOs and owners of middle market companies grow, de-risk, and realize their company’s value. Her extensive experience includes leadership and board director positions with Joule Processing, and Air Liquide America L.P., among others. Denney has dedicated her career to assisting business owners, families, CEOs, and Presidents on matters of strategic leadership, performance, financial, and process improvement.

Jennifer Petree is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Petree Partners LLC. Her firm guides middle market companies and closely held businesses through periods of growth and expansion. Petree and her team are best known for sales, marketing and back-office planning for professional service firms, private equity-backed companies, and family-run businesses. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Petree served as the Director of Business Development at Vinson & Elkins LLP, Baker Botts LLP and the global head of marketing for a joint venture between Shell and Halliburton. Currently, Petree serves as a board advisor for a second generation-owned engineering firm. Petree is a founding member of the Houston PDA Chapter and most recently chaired the Chapter’s sponsorship committee.
The PDA Houston Chapter, led by volunteers who contribute their time and expertise, serves as a hub for directors, executives, owners, and the C-Suite of private companies. Through expert programming on leading board practices, the Chapter facilitates peer-to-peer networking and informs members about current and challenging topics facing the local private company community.
