The Power of Strategic Partnerships: How the Sponsorship Committee Creates Meaningful Connections
Sponsorships at PDA are more than financial support—they're partnerships that bring expertise, engagement, and long-term value to members and sponsors alike. The Sponsorship Steering Committee (SSC) plays a critical role in developing these strategic relationships, ensuring that sponsors align with PDA’s mission and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s success.
"Our goal is to create partnerships that don’t just fund events but strengthen the PDA community," says Linda Giuliano, Chair of the SSC and member of the New York Metro Chapter. "By collaborating with organizations that share our vision, we can enhance programming, provide valuable resources, and foster deeper engagement between sponsors and our members."
What Makes a Great Sponsorship?
The SSC works to identify sponsors whose values and expertise align with PDA’s mission and to create opportunities for meaningful engagement.
"Many of our sponsors come through direct relationships or referrals from members and volunteers," explains Giuliano. "But beyond that, we look for partners who bring industry expertise and thought leadership that enrich our programming."
The Impact of Sponsorships
Sponsorships help to make high-impact events like PRISM possible, funding keynote speakers, networking receptions, and educational sessions that enhance the experience for attendees.
"PRISM is a perfect example of how sponsorships create value for both sides," says Giuliano. "Sponsors get a platform to engage directly with PDA members, while our members gain access to exclusive insights and expertise."
Beyond financial contributions, sponsorships create opportunities for learning and collaboration that extend beyond a single event.
"A great sponsorship is about building relationships, not just branding," adds Giuliano. "Our goal is to foster connections that continue long after an event ends."
How Members Can Get Involved
The SSC encourages members to take an active role in strengthening sponsorship efforts by identifying potential partners, making introductions, and sharing insights about what resonates with them.
"Our members are some of the best advocates for PDA’s value," says Giuliano. "When they engage with sponsors and share their experiences, it helps reinforce why these partnerships matter."
Looking Ahead
As PDA continues to expand, so do opportunities for sponsorship growth. The SSC is focused on enhancing sponsor retention, growing partnerships, and refining PDA’s sponsorship value proposition to ensure long-term success.
"We’re working to develop sponsorship models that provide ongoing value—not just one-time engagements," says Giuliano. "By focusing on long-term partnerships, we’re strengthening PDA’s ability to provide high-quality programming and networking opportunities."
With the SSC leading these efforts, sponsorships will continue to play a vital role in supporting PDA’s mission, expanding member benefits, and fostering valuable industry relationships.
