Chapter Leadership
DC Metro

Rochelle Campbell has been named Co-President of the DC Metro Chapter, to serve alongside William Carter. Campbell succeeds Guillermo Christensen, who helped guide the Chapter’s continued momentum and strengthen member engagement.

“I’m honored to serve as co-president, and continue to support our members and the growth of the Chapter, while elevating its impact through high-caliber engagement, and practical governance insights,” Campbell said.

Campbell is the founder, CEO, and Managing Member of Leadership Elevated, a board governance and recruitment consultancy that supports boards as they mature governance practices and helps board candidates accelerate their journey to the boardroom. Over the course of her career, she has supported thousands of board members and executives across industries, developing and delivering board services including custom board recruitment, board interview support, coaching, board evaluations, skillset matrices, and governance training.

Her board placement work spans Fortune 500, large family-owned enterprises, private companies, and nonprofit organizations. Campbell is widely recognized for aligning diverse candidates with the skill sets boards need most—85% of her placements have increased board diversity.

A sought-after governance thought leader, Campbell is known for her expertise in board composition and dynamics, governance practices, and board recruitment strategy. She has also supported more than 700 military flag and general officers (1–4 stars) as they translate their leadership experience into successful private sector careers.

Within PDA, Campbell serves as Chair of the Board Directors Opportunity Committee and as the DC Metro Chapter Programming Chair, roles that have strengthened member value through practical programming and board opportunity resources.

“Since its founding, the DC Metro Chapter team has been deliberate in building a strong foundation. Rochelle Campbell has played an important leadership role in that progress, including her successful work with our Programming Committee. As Chapter Chair, I am pleased to welcome Rochelle as Co-Chair and confident in her ability to help lead the Chapter through its next phase of growth and maturity,” Carter said.

“Rochelle brings a rare combination of governance expertise, boardroom insight, and a deep commitment to helping leaders and organizations elevate how they govern,” said Debra McGuire, President & CEO of Private Directors Association. “She has already made a meaningful impact through her service to PDA and the DC Metro Chapter, and I’m excited to see her help shape the Chapter’s next chapter of growth. We’re also grateful to Guillermo Christensen for his leadership and dedication—his contributions have helped strengthen the foundation the DC Metro Chapter continues to build on.”

Campbell holds a master’s degree in Peace Operations from George Mason University and is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow. She also serves as Nom/Gov Chair of Civics and Service International and sits on the Advisory Board for Athena Alliance.
