Economic Outlook

Overview

The year ahead will test how boards read the economy. Inflation, interest rates, labor markets, and capital investment are moving together at a moment when decisions carry longer-term consequences. Add accelerated investment in artificial intelligence, and directors face a landscape where assumptions matter.

In this session, we will cover the economic outlook, including the latest US economic forecast and alternative growth scenarios. Topics covered will include the path of inflation and interest rates, potential changes to monetary policy, and labor market dynamics. In addition, we will go through how investment in artificial intelligence is affecting the economic outlook and how a potential boom and bust in this technology could manifest.
