Joanne Boyd Irving, Ph.D Aurthor The C² Factor for Leadership |
For over 30 years Dr. Joanne Irving has worked at the intersection of psychology and business – as a founder and small business owner, as a direct provider of psychological services, as an advisor and coach to senior executives in mid to large size companies, as a lead board member for nonprofit organizations, and as an author.
Dr. Irving understands the challenges of running a small business as well as those faced by executives in large organizations. As a psychologist with organizational acumen, she has helped executives uncover the psychological undercurrents that either propel companies forward or create hidden drag on performance. Whether it's a board member struggling with strategic decision-making or a leadership team caught in unproductive conflict patterns, Joanne finds solutions based on understanding both the business mechanics and the human dynamics at play.
An experienced board member on several nonprofit and volunteer organizations, Joanne is thought of as a critical thinker, astute listener, and vocal contributor. She is a team-oriented professional and an effective problem solver, bringing integrity, caring, and pragmatism to her board work. Her clients are consistently recognized for their achievements, increased influence, and ability to lead in the most challenging times. They have met complicated challenges and have inspired people to excel and achieve extraordinary results.
Dr. Irving has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University where she graduated summa cum laude and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland.
